It is easy to turn curiosity into another queue of tasks. A saved article becomes homework. A side project becomes a deadline. An interesting question becomes something to finish.
Keep one thing without a plan
Try a tool with no intention of adopting it. Read about a topic that does not connect to your current work. Make something small and let it remain small.
There is room for learning that never becomes a deliverable. Sometimes the useful connection arrives much later.
Step away from the editor
A walk changes the pace of attention. It gives a difficult problem time to settle and makes it possible to notice something that has nothing to do with the problem.
That is useful on its own. It does not need to become a productivity technique.
Leave a breadcrumb
When something catches your interest, write a sentence about why. A short note is enough. Future you will not need a perfect summary; just a way back to the original spark.
